Pre-clinicals are officially done!!
I finished my OSCES (Objective Structured Clinical Examination - basically a clinical assessment in the form of patient encounters) this afternoon thus OFFICIALLY closing my preclinical chapter YAY. This is a weird place to be because I'm so relieved and want to relax, but with boards looming in the near future, I still have to maintain somewhat a focused mindset. I did take some time to decompress last Friday with some close friends after our last written final, though. It was so nice to just let loose for a few hours and enjoy spending time with each other around a fire. I haven't had fun like that in a while. I wrote a post reflecting on these last 2 years, you can read it here! The idea of dedicated is still really frightening to me because I don't do well with locking myself up to study for an exam, I couldn't with the MCAT. I've heard all these stories of people basically not leaving their desks for anything other than to use the bathroom and to sleep... I am such a free spirit and cannot survive in confinement so I am going to have to figure out some kind of balance to optimize my learning soon. Summer could not come quicker. dee
