giving back
from a young age, my dad always instilled a duty to serve the community that has given so much to me. education, I find, is truly the greatest equalizer. therefore, I have made it a life goal of mine to create and continue to innovate educational programs that engage the youth around me in meaningful ways.
K - 12
are you stronger than a lemur?
In this citizen science program, students (K-12, age group adjusted content) participate in a series of interactive discussions about the origins of human evolution, strepsirrhine diversity and ecology, and broadly the field of biomechanics, before measuring their own grip strength using dynamometers. Students then compare body-weight adjusted human grip strength to that of lemurs and discuss the role of grasping within an evolutionary anthropological context.
